SANAC CIVIL SOCIETY FORUM ADVOCACY LETTER OF 2025 ABOUT ENDING TB AS A PUBLIC HEALTH THREAT IN SOUTH AFRICA
SANAC Civil Society Forum (CSF) advocates for quality health for all South Africans. Whilst great strides have been made in addressing HIV and TB, more still needs to be done. This is more important now given the withdrawal of health funding for HIV and TB to South Africa by the USA government led by President Donal Trump.
We need to recalibrate and use our won domestic resources to achieve greater health outcomes.
Whilst we understand that great strides have been recorded in the response to HIV and TB by the South African government, we need to continue to collectively do more. The more we must do includes strengthening greater working relationship between the Department of Health and Civil Society.
This advocacy letter is to remind the Minister and ourselves what remains unattended and what we propose must be done.
Through this letter, we expect a response from Minister amotsoaledi and thereafter we will meet to discuss the next course of action to collectively chart the way forward on the issues we have raised.
