Civil society organisations are hereby invited to register in the database of the South African National AIDS Council Civil Society Forum (SANAC CSF) to become part of the largest civil society network in the Country, working the HIV and AIDS Response as mandated by the National Strategic plan on HIV and AIDS, TB and STI’s (NSP). It is also to become part of the agenda setting for the HIV and AIDS response in the country and to work with major HIV and AIDS donors in the country.
SANAC CSF is a formal advisory body established in 2012 by the South African National AIDS Council to facilitate participation of civil society organisations and networks, within the National HIV and AIDS response by way of implementing the NSP through sectors.
SANAC CSF aims to promote an inclusive, competent, and responsive civil society that effectively serves the needs of the people in South African communities, by linking and diversifying civil society actors, expanding the sectors and communities where civil society contributes, improving civil society organisations’ operations, and enhancing connections between civil society organisations with their stakeholders and constituents.
The Purpose of this Sector Audit is:
For existing members:
- To map sector leaders at national, provincial, district and local levels.
- To map sector member constituent organisations.
- To map sector stakeholder organisations and associations operating at local, district, provincial and national levels.
For new members:
- To identify locales with strong CSF sector representation.
- To identify locales with weak CSF sector representation.
- To expand pool of organisations participating at local, district, provincial and national levels.
